We Are a Fellowship of People

Now I slip, I fall inside

Where it gets dark and I want to hide

My vision gets blurry and my heart ignites

Spit and trick,

Hiss and flick

The threats I perceive

but I know

It’s just me

I can tear down my shrine

Destroy it so I don’t have to

Call it mine

I tumble over all the fears I’m

trying to hide

But when I’m here and I’m

With them,

All these gut wrenchings, they

Disappear

When I’m here I know I’m home

Their laughter and their cries

Show me that I’ll never be alone and that

As long as we’re together, our

Limit is the sky

As long as I’ve got them,

I’ve got a space

To allow each tumble and fumble

As long as I’ve got them,

It won’t matter how much I slip and fall

Tumble and stumble and

Spit, trick, hiss, flick

Because they’ll always be

Here to help me mourn and grow

As long as I’ve got them,

I’ve got a place to call home.
